Participate in our 2nd PRE-LEAP-RE Strategic Workshop | Stellenbosch, June 24-26

It’s official! The second PRE-LEAP-RE workshop will take place in South Africa and will be held from 24-26 June 2019 in the Western Cape, Stellenbosch, South Africa. You can now register for the event and find practical information about travel and accommodation.

The workshop will take place at Protea Marriot Hotel Stellenbosch (Techno Ave, Techno Park, Stellenbosch, 7600).

Summary

The second PRE-LEAP-RE’s African Union – European Union (AU-EU) Research and Innovation (R&I) Partnership on Renewable Energy Strategic Workshop will hold from 24 -26 June 2019 in the Western Cape, Stellenbosch, South Africa. The event will be hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of South Africa (DST) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Algeria (MHESR)and the German Aerospace Center (DLR-PT).

During this workshop, the consortium will present the set of research thematic areas (referred to as Multi-Annual Roadmaps, which include capacity-building activities) in renewable energy that have been elaborated during the course of the project. It will also address the accompanying funding schemes foreseen for LEAP-RE’s activities as well as the evaluation and monitoring framework.

Registration closes on Friday, 21 June 2019.

Accommodation

Participants are encouraged to book their accommodation at the Marriot Protea Hotel (Techno Ave, Stellenbosch 7600), which is the same venue as the workshop. Accommodation queries can be sent to Ms Refilwe Mashigo (refilwe.mashigo@dst.gov.za) and Mr Sigfried Tivana (sigfried.tivana@dst.gov.za).

Travel

There should be direct flights from Kenya, Paris, London and Frankfurt, otherwise you can connect via OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Cape Town – the flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town is roughly 2hrs long.
